“Ya İstiklal Ya Ölüm” is a Turkish-made mini-television series in the historical genre. It approaches the National Struggle and the liberation of Izmir from a different perspective in terms of both technical and cinematic language. All locations were changed with 3D-modeled houses for the village and its surroundings. The opening scene was animated by modeling the first independent Turkish Grand National Assembly. In the shots where there were about three hundred people, they were multiplied to thousands. All British navies and ships were modeled in 3D to depict the occupation of Istanbul. Current shots were adapted to the period of the series with visual effects
